School shooting at Delaware State University

September 21st, 2007 by spacebass5000

So it looks like there has been another school shooting. This time it has taken place at Delaware State University. It doesn’t look as if it’s known whether or not the shooter is a student. I would imagine he/she is but there is no telling at this point. It does appear that Delaware State University isn’t planning on repeating the same mistakes as Virginia Tech. I guess something good has come out of the VT shooting.

Police combed the Delaware State University campus on Friday for a man who shot two students, leaving a woman in a “potentially life-threatening” condition, a school spokesman said.

The university was on lockdown after the shootings near the Memorial Hall sports arena, which university police said were reported Friday at 12:54 a.m. ET .

Let’s hope the perpetrator is rounded up and that the two victims come out of this alright.

British man urinates on dying woman, declaring it ‘YouTube material’

September 21st, 2007 by spacebass5000

This is pretty tore up… This doesn’t really surprise me, but at the same time I find it pretty fucking disturbing. One has to wonder if this dude had called 911 (or whatever the British equivalent is), if Mrs. Lakinski’s life could have been saved.

A Hartlepool man is facing jail after he urinated on a disabled woman who lay dying in the street. The 27-year-old shouted “this is YouTube material” as he degraded Christine Lakinski, 50, who had fallen ill, magistrates heard.

University of Florida Student tasered at John Kerry Speech

September 18th, 2007 by spacebass5000

Haha, check out this wack-job activist getting tazed. Make certain to watch the second video. It shows him going off on a diatribe and basically being a disrespectful prick to Kerry. Not to mention that prior to his diatribe, he was told they didn’t have any more time for questions (the previous question was supposed to have been the “final” question).

U.S. Sen. John Kerry’s speech at the University of Florida came to a dramatic close Monday, shortly after a vocal audience member was hauled off by police and shot with a Taser gun.

The audience member was preliminarily identified by UF officials as Andrew Meyer, a UF student in the College of Journalism and Communications.

I think we need more of this in America. Tazing activists sounds like a badass sport to me. Think we can get this into the 2008 Olympics?

New Fuel Alternative? - Radio Frequencies Help Burn Salt Water

September 12th, 2007 by spacebass5000

So I’m a little late in reporting this but regardless, this is some badass news that is definitely worth noting.

An Erie cancer researcher has found a way to burn salt water, a novel invention that is being touted by one chemist as the “most remarkable” water science discovery in a century.

John Kanzius happened upon the discovery accidentally when he tried to desalinate seawater with a radio-frequency generator he developed to treat cancer. He discovered that as long as the salt water was exposed to the radio frequencies, it would burn.

The discovery has scientists excited by the prospect of using salt water, the most abundant resource on earth, as a fuel.

The implications of this are HUGE. If the energy created from this process can be safely harnessed, we’ll get to enjoy an ABUNDANT energy resource that *should* be cleaner and cheaper than the status-quo (fossil fuels).

I’m pretty stoked about this, I’ll definitely be on the lookout for further updates surrounding this process. Stay tuned!!!

Chris Crocker - Leave Britney Spears alone!!!

September 11th, 2007 by spacebass5000

A friend just linked me to this… I HOPE this is fake. For someone to get this worked up over a celebrity is RETARDED. I mean for fuck’s sake, Britney exists inside of your TV man. She’s barely real!

The funny shit is, you can’t tell if this is a guy or a girl. After making my way to the youtube page this is taken from, I am pretty certain it’s a guy. Which makes this so MUCH worse. I would really, really love to punch this guy in the face. I think he/she needs it…

Edit: Ok, just go to Chris’ youtube user page and check out just how much of a freak he really is: http://www.youtube.com/user/itschriscrocker

Holy shit this guy is fruity. I sincerely hope his sperm never makes its way inside of a women as I REALLY don’t want to see him passing on his genes. What is it they say? Something about being about as queer as a three-dollar football bat?

Steve Jobs’ Open Letter to all iPhone Customers

September 7th, 2007 by spacebass5000

So it looks like Steve Jobs has realized just how badly he pissed off the people who purchased an iPhone prior to its $200 price-drop. With hopes of salvaging whatever positive PR he can, he’s issued an Open Letter to all of the people who got shafted.

I have received hundreds of emails from iPhone customers who are upset about Apple dropping the price of iPhone by $200 two months after it went on sale.

we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple’s website next week. Stay tuned.

We want to do the right thing for our valued iPhone customers. We apologize for disappointing some of you, and we are doing our best to live up to your high expectations of Apple.

So in a nutshell, Steve has basically flipped the bird to those he shafted and has blessed them with the opportunity to save $100 on their next Apple purchase. Riiiiight…

I’ll be honest, the iPhone looks pretty badass, I just didn’t think it was worth the initial asking price nor do I think it’s worth $400. Seeing as how the iPhone is still “new”, not an open-source platform, and without any real competition, there is no way in hell I’d go near it with a ten-foot pole. To me, Apple products have always been over-hyped and just not worth their asking price.

Nuclear Weapons Mistakenly Flown Over US

September 6th, 2007 by spacebass5000

Opps! You mean those were REAL?!?!

A B-52 bomber was mistakenly armed with six nuclear warheads and flown for more than three hours across several states last week, prompting an Air Force investigation and the firing of one commander, Pentagon officials said Wednesday.

The incident was so serious that President Bush and Defense Secretary Robert Gates were quickly informed and Gates has asked for daily briefings on the Air Force probe, said Defense Department press secretary Geoff Morrell. He said, “At no time was the public in danger.”

Wow, to err is human but to REALLY fuck up requires the US government. It’s nice to know we take our nuclear arsenal that seriously.

Sleep well America!!!

Apple’s 8GB iPhone Price Cut by $200, 4GB iPhone Gone

September 5th, 2007 by spacebass5000

WTF?!! Is Apple (aka Steve Jobs) coming to his senses? Probably not…

Chief Executive Steve Jobs said the price of an iPhone with 8 gigabytes of storage would drop to $399 from $599. Apple will stop selling the 4 GB model.

Jobs unveiled an iPhone-style iPod Touch, which will cost $299 for a version with 8GB of storage and $399 for 16 GB.

Not that I’m an Apple fan-boi, but I imagine that this is good news all around as the iPhone seems to be a highly coveted item. Who knows, maybe I’ll treat myself to one this Christmas?

And oh yeah, let’s all have take a second to share a collective laugh at everyone who purchased one prior to this moment in history. Bwahahahahahahaha! Sucks to be you!

Former District Attorney Nifong gets only one day in jail

September 5th, 2007 by spacebass5000

Embattled former district attorney Mike Nifong was held in criminal contempt of court and sentenced to one day in jail Friday for his actions in the flawed Duke lacrosse team rape case.

Personally, I don’t think this is enough. Time and time again our elected officials are getting away with some pretty outrageous behavior. I feel they should have made an example out of Nifong. His self-serving political agenda almost shredded the lives of the accused. Not that I feel too bad for the three lacrosse players accused of sexual assault, but if it had been me, I’d have been completely fucked. I don’t come from an EXTREMELY wealthy family. I don’t have the resources that were afforded to these three young men. If it had been me or some other average Joe, former District Attorney Nifong would’ve had another notch to place on his belt and my life would be ruined. That whole sexual assault thing sort of sticks around ya know?

So anyway, yay! Way to go American Legal System! Kudos to you and your overwhelming effectiveness!!!

If you’re interested in reading more about this, check out the Final Order.
